Arni's Desk
Feb. 17th, 2012 10:44 am| [Ever diligent, Arni stands at full attention behind the front desk, waiting to be helpful to those who lived in the hotel. As you approach, he clenches his teeth together in a tight, friendly smile, eyes locking onto yours with an unbreakable gaze. Now, what can he help you with?] (OOC: This post is intended for use by characters looking to buy items over 5 chips. There is no need for prose here or lengthy action; just saying the item you want to buy will suffice. We will get back to you as soon as we can.) |

Date: 2012-04-30 10:12 pm (UTC)It is a magical item that he always has on him, only it does contain a lot of his other belongings, this is canon. I can link a wiki explaining what he had in it, but I need to know if he can buy this back and therefore have everything that was in it, or if he'd have to buy them all back one at a time as Dave keeps everything in this magical inventory item.

Date: 2012-05-01 02:28 pm (UTC)Well, the Sylladex is pretty much a portable inventory, kind of like when you get an item, weapon or potion in games such as Final fantasy, Zelda or Tales of symphonia. This is what Dave's looks like:
Dave's sylladex is a little more complicated cause he's such a wizkid! Normally they are like a deck of few cards, each card has a different storage purpose. A Captchalogue deck is where you can scan something physical and capture it into your deck to summon later. This is what it looks like:
The Strife specibus is where you'd keep your weapons, Dave's happens to be a bladekind:
Items are stored inside it and you can summon the items by choosing them or by collecting another item and pushing something out the bottom of the deck.
Dave's is a Hash Map modus which means he has a letter of the alphabet on each card, each letter represents its number worth in the game of scrabble so:
A=1, B=3, C=3, D=2, E=1, F=4, G=2, H=4, I=1, J=8, K=5, L=1, M=3, N=1, O=1, P=3, Q=10, R=1, S=1, T=1, U=1, V=4, W=4, X=8, Y=4, and Z=10.
This means Dave can store more items in the card marked Q than he can in E and so on.
A diagram of how this works looks like this:
This modus allows characters to collect and carry more items than you could in your pockets or a bag. Every character in Homestuck has a sylladex of some kind because its based on old school RPG games such as Break of fire or even like on Minecraft.

Date: 2012-05-02 05:45 am (UTC)The modteam has discussed it, and has decided that Dave (and any other Homestuck character possessing one) may buy back his sylladex for 10 chips. However:
+ The items within the sylladex have to be purchased individually. Purchasing the sylladex does not include the items that would have been in the sylladex at the canon point.
+ The sylladex only holds 5 items of any size ('items' doesn't include people or animals).
+ The ejection feature on the sylladex is limited to the force with which the user can throw the item (i.e.: Refrigerators may not emerge from the sylladex at 60mph. Please don't maim or kill anyone with your sylladex....)
If there's anything the modteam isn't fully grasping, please let us know. The team is canonblind where Homestuck is concerned, so anything we aren't really getting, please feel free to elaborate!

Date: 2012-05-02 04:38 pm (UTC)I'll pass on this Sylladex rule to my canon mates too! :3
Thanks again for compromising on this matter! You rule stay wicked!

Description: After reading the Prose Edda a few times, Rikku eventually came to the conclusion that Odin was a jackass, Thor was pretty okay, and that Loki got the raw end of pretty much every deal (except that thing with Sigyn and Thor's wedding).

2) the price/availability of chemical kits and supplies to develop said film himself
no subject
Date: 2012-09-23 08:04 pm (UTC)Replacement film can be purchased for 1 chip per roll. Anything he needs to develop said film (chemical kits AND supplies) can be purchased in a bundle for 1 chip as well.

1. Title: The Many Faces of Loki
Contents: An extremely in depth look at the mythological character of Loki and how there appear to be several different versions of him, depending on the myths examined and the writers. Looked at especially is the pre-Christian version of Loki and how he was less of a "devil" figure than after Christian.
There are footnotes and a bibliography. And it's somehow just legible.
2. Title: Vegas Economics.
Contents This one is a look at the Vegas economy based on a single denomination: the chip with suggestions of how the introduction of different valued chips, much like there are different denominations of bills ($1, $5, $10 etc) might make things easier than having to carry the damn things around.
Also with footnotes and a bibliography
3. Title: What I did on my Summer Vacation (What? That's a very typical School Essay, or so I'm told. I never had to do these damn things as a kid.)
Contents A rather erratic list of Alec's activities before he showed up in Vegas, including dealing with some carnivorous slugs, getting stuck in a Library from Hell, and hanging out in a small town in Faery. Also, yes, having sex with the boyfriend(s).
4. TitleUnbalanced Love (A creative writing assignment.)
Contents: *sighs* It's a slash fic between Loki and Thor.
